The Debut Strings ensemble is the FCYO’s 2nd year beginning level string orchestra catering to the young musician just beginning the study of a string instrument, from helping choose the appropriate instrument for the student to establishing proper practice and rehearsal techniques. The musicians begin to make music with other musicians of similar skills in a conducted ensemble before proceeding on to Intermezzo Strings. Music chosen for the Debut Strings features original and arranged repertoire for beginner string orchestra. Weekly rehearsals with professional musicians and conductors, potential for performances each season dependent on the progress of the ensemble. Comparable levels – Beginner to ASTA Grade 1, Suzuki Method Books 1-2.
Typical Debut Strings concerts will include a wide variety from the standard symphonic literature.
