Youth Philharmonic

The Youth Philharmonic is the FCYO’s intermediate full symphony orchestra that strives to build a strong foundation in string, wind, brass and percussion training in orchestral performance.  Musicians in the Youth Philharmonic are primarily intermediate and advancing young instrumentalists in Middle or High School. Repertoire is chosen to build reading and ensemble skills and experience.  Members may continue on to the Youth Symphony or finish their FCYO experience in the Youth Philharmonic. Weekly rehearsals and in-depth sectionals with professional musicians and conductors, several concerts each season.

Annual Retreat

Each Fall at the very start of the season, the Youth Philharmonic spends a Saturday at a local venue away from our normal rehearsal location for intensive rehearsals, coachings/sectionals, bonding and team-building.  This event is always a highlight of our season.

Chamber Music

Youth Philharmonic musicians have the opportunity to participate in our Chamber Music Program.  Chamber musicians work to explore repertory for small groups of 2, 3, 4 or more with individual coaches.  Chamber music group can expect to perform several times during the year.  Our chamber music season runs generally from January to March with a finite number of rehearsals before or after the main orchestra rehearsal.
